Leonland - Leon Barnard
Chapter 3 > Scenes from San Francisco
I moved to San Francisco in February, 2001. I am rapidly falling in love with this amazing city. It's full of incredible contrasts and has a ton of personality. Here are some pictures that I took during my first month here.
Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park, my new favorite get-away place.

One day I walked from Ocean Beach to the Golden Gate Bridge and had views like this the whole way.

The Golden Gate Bridge is really magnificent on a sunny day.

A funky building that I liked near Fisherman's Wharf.

A view of downtown from gorgeous Twin Peaks.

I thought this represented the housing situation pretty well. There are a whole lot of people crammed in to this relatively small city.

The Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach.

Everything is busy here, until you go near the coast.

Coit Tower.

Like I said, lots of personality.

A sample of the many interesting things you can find in Chinatown.

What's wrong with this picture? I took this picture on one of San Francisco's many very steep hills. If you turn your head about 15 degrees to the right you'll see what this scene really looks like.

This isn't actually in San Francisco, it's in the Berkeley BART station, a place I've spent a lot of time in lately.

The Palace of Fine Arts, possibly my favorite place in the whole world.

The Palace of Fine Arts from across the lake.

A relaxing scene at Ocean Beach.

A scene from the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.

The underside of the structure in the previous photo in the foreground.

A sunset photo from the Sunset neighborhood.

A great sunset at Ocean Beach.
