I couldn't believe how cheap and easy it was to coordinate this trip with my friend Chen. We stayed in hostels in Portland and then took a greyhound out to Seaside, OR on the coast and stayed in a very friendly hostel there.
Here's two pictures from the Japanese Gardens in the Portland hills.
This is a view of Mount Tillamook from the beach we went to everyday, about 4 blocks from our hostel.
This beach was really pretty, although rather cold when it got windy.
Here's me on top of Mount Tillamook. It was a nice, forest-y hike.
The Pacific sunsets here were great.
