Leonland - Leon Barnard
Chapter 1 > Orcas Island, WA
Man, this place was like fantasy island, it was so gorgeous. It's a small island just off the tip of Washington state. This was the second half of my Pacific Northwest after-school-got-out trip.
Here's where we stayed, looking north to Canada. Orcas is one of a few inhabited islands that make up the San Juan islands.
This is a waterfall on Mount Constitution, the highest peak on the San Juan islands, which gives a great view.
Probably the most visually memorable attraction of Orcas is the amazing sunsets. Here's a sample of what we saw every night.
The 10 minute flight to Orcas was fun because I got to fly in a tiny 10-seater jet and the view was great. The only time I flew in a smaller plane was when I went Skydiving.
