Leonland - Leon Barnard
Chapter 4 > More scenes from New York
Being in New York with lots of free time was an incredible situation. I walked all over and explored as much of the city as I could. Here are some pictures from my various walking tours of New York that I took in April of 2002.
The subway station closest to my place, at 110th street and Broadway.

Since I had the time, I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge one day, then explored Brooklyn for an hour or two.

The Manhattan Bridge, bridging Manhattan and Brooklyn, with the Empire State Building faintly visible in the background.

A typical block in the upscale Brooklyn Heights.

An interesting pork store in Brooklyn.

Battery Park, at the southern tip of Manhattan, looking towards the Statue of Liberty.

Washington Square Park, in the heart of the village, a nice place to take a break.

Some really pretty houses in the west village.

A fun sculpture in a playground.

Take that Barnes & Noble!

I've learned not to be surprised by anything in New York.

Times Square is an over-crowded mess, but it's amazing how bright it is at night.

A tiny piece of Grand Central.

Central Park at night.

A view from my window. Pigeons and apartment buildings, both bountiful in my neighborhood.
