Chapter 3 > Washington, D.C.
My good friends Ann & John had moved to DC several months earlier and I had been meaning to visit them for a while. So I took a weekend trip there for my birthday. I had been there once when I was 15 and had forgotten how pretty it is. Since it was such a short trip I didn't get to see much, but we did spend a nice afternoon around the mall that spreads from the Capitol to the Washington monument and Lincoln memorial.
The Washington monument is surrounded by American flags, which I thought looked very nice.
It really is a very majestic structure.

The Lincoln memorial. I wish we would've had time to get closer to it. I remember enjoying it when I was there 10 years earlier.
