Chapter 6 > Green Street, Pasadena

I heard about a special offering for Pasadena residents to get first dibs on Rose Bowl tickets on a Saturday morning. I reluctantly got up at 7:00 am and walked about a mile to the Pasadena Civic Center to wait in line for a random number. I didn't need to walk, but I felt that I'd enjoy it. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when I went back at 9:30 to wait in line to get tickets I brought my 35mm SLR camera (a Canon AE-1), which I've been trying to use more often. It's such a joy to use a manual SLR camera and I took most of a full roll by the time I arrived back at the Civic Center. I didn't get tickets, but the walk was so nice that I didn't mind.

All of these pictures were taken along Green street in Pasadena between Lake st. and Marengo ave. or on a side street off of Green. These photos are presented in the order in which they were taken so that you can follow me on my walk.

I love the mountains off in the distance. Not sure about the cylinder-shaped trees though.

My favorite part of the walk was looking into the restaurants that hadn't opened yet. The light was really nice as it shone inside.

Another empty restaurant.

The White Hut. It advertises its burgers and pastrami. I'd like to go there sometime.

A bright ray of sun was shining directly on this wreath.

Boy, when you're feeling artistic, you see art everywhere. I really like this picture but I'm almost embarassed at how cliche it is.

This one is a little more unique.

This was cool to see in person. What's missing in the picture is the scale of it. Huge trees casting a shadow on a huge wall.

Everyone waiting to hear their number called. Mine was one of the last ones called.
