Chapter 6 > Pasadena

After I got a job I found a permanent place in Pasadena. It's a pretty cool city. There's enough to do and there are restaurants, shops, bookstores, coffee shops, and supermarkets that I can walk to from my house. It's also not too far from where I work, so my commute isn't as bad as I feared when I thought about moving to Southern California. Here are some photos from my first few weeks living in Pasadena.

My place. I'm renting out a room in a 2 bedroom condo.

The entrance to my unit.

My local Koo-Koo-Roo.

A group of tall palm trees near my house.

What kind of message is this sending? I can't figure out why the city would be telling us to waste paper. Don't we Americans waste enough?

On the other end of the spectrum from Koo-Koo-Roo is Zankou Chicken. There are several locations in LA. If you ever get a chance, you've gotta have some.

LA traffic is tricky. It's all about the time of day and direction. Here's a shot I took while going the right direction at the right time of cars going the wrong direction at the wrong time. I'm so thankful that my commute to work is in the right direction.

A view of the San Gabriel Mountains from work.

Another view at sunset from near my house.
