Leonland - Leon Barnard

Chapter 6 > Road trip from ATL to LA

Without a job, I packed up all my stuff and drove from Atlanta to Los Angeles with my girlfriend. It was a great trip. We took 4 days, staying overnight in Little Rock, AR, Amarillo, TX, and Flagstaff, AZ. We also made some meal stops in Birmingham, AL, Memphis, TN, Oklahoma City, OK, Santa Fe, NM, and Sedona, AZ. Even though it was exhausting, I was a little sad to see it end.

Minutes before departure from Peachtree City, GA, where we started, not knowing what was in store for us.

The Rum Boogie Cafe in Memphis, where we had dinner the first night.

The Riverwalk area of Oklahoma City, lunch, day 2.

Afro Ken, our traveling companion and mascot.

The Big Texan, in Amarillo, home of the 72 oz. steak.

Inside the Big Texan, lots of dead animals, on the plates and on the walls.

The night sky on our only encounter with rough weather.

Rest stop, in Texas, maybe?

Santa Fe, NM, probably the prettiest city we saw on the trip. Thanks to my girlfriend for adding this detour to our itinerary.

Sedona, AZ, on the morning of our last day. Another welcome detour.

I think this was near the border between Arizona and California.
