Leonland - Leon Barnard
Chapter 6 > First impressions of LA
I spent my first month in LA unemployed, subletting a room in Westwood, right near UCLA. My girlfriend and I frequently met up in one of the many beach towns along the coast because they're about half-way between where she lives and where I was living.
Fun at Seal Beach.

Parasurfers at Long Beach.

The sun goes down on Long Beach.

Surfers going home for the day at Huntington Beach.

At the end of Santa Monica Pier, a popular fishing spot.

Mount Rushmore, in sand! There were several other cool sand sculptures this evening on Long Beach, but this was my favorite.

Two of my girlfriend's close friends got married in the Bay Area. A fun trip.

One of my favorite things about being in Southern California is that In-N-Out is everywhere. This is the one in Westwood, my favorite one architecturally.

Views of the super-cool Getty Museum in LA.

A view of LA and the 405 from the Getty. You can see the smog.
