I realize that my update frequency has dropped off fairly dramatically recently. I'm not exactly sure why (perhaps I'm being drawn to micro-blogging instead), but it may stay that way for a bit. If you are interested in keeping better tabs on me, I am somewhat active on Facebook and Flickr.

I recently found a good way to make my Spectrum mixes available online. These are music mixes that I've made for friends periodically for the past few years. I'm now in the process of putting them online. Go to my Music page to listen to them.

Today I did get around to shooting some pictures around Prague. I did the tourist thing and hit up Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and Mala Strana. The photos are on Flickr for now.

I got a great comment today from someone regarding a photo on my website from my time in New York:

The guy in the bandana who "looks like Jimi Hendrix" happens to be an old friend of mine who passed away a couple of years ago. His name is Quincy. He was an amazing person, and I have very few pictures of him. Thanks so much for this one because it shows him doing what he truly loved -- "Jam-Skating".

One year in Prague

Today is our 1-year anniversary of arriving in Prague. I dug up some photos taken from our pre-move visit in July and our first 10 days here, which brought back some memories from that time. That whole first month was really overwhelming and totally free from the patterns that we've established now. Not to dwell on it too much... I just wanted to take a step back and remember what it was like and look and where we're at a year on.

Just outside of our apartment, 10 days after we arrived.

Me, looking a little stressed and intimidated. Three days after arrival, the day before my first day of work.

Our first meal at home. Trying to make it feel more like we live there. Five days after we arrived.

Six weeks before we moved. In Prague as tourists.

September goal

I've been mulling my September goal for a few days now. I think that instead of starting a side project this month, I should direct more energy towards my work. I just started a new job and am pretty excited about it. I wasn't always so productive at my previous job and I'd like to dedicate myself more to this one. So, my goal this month will be to focus on increasing my productivity and improving my work habits. Not a very measurable goal, I know. But I'll know if I'm succeeding or not.

Again, I was pretty busy, but I managed a few more sketches that put me to my goal of 30 for the month. Here are my final ones. I was hoping that these would be my best ones, but I think I didn't really take my time with them, so they didn't turn out as well.

Not as many last week. I was experimenting with charcoal, which has a bit more feeling than the drawing pencil I was mostly using the week before. I'd like to get back to sketching some people this week, but I'm not sure if I'll have time.

Here are some sketches that I did the past week. I decided not to pick my most and least favorites and just post a selection of them instead. I've been trying to focus on people, but it's hard to find good subjects (hence the sleepers in the park).
